With the coronavirus spreading across the world most of us have been literally forced from our gyms and any other kind of group fitness activity and told to stay home. The government is recommending wherever possible to have 6 feet between yourself and any other human right now; however, the government also recommends staying active and eating healthily. On first glance this may seem like a contradiction but there are ways to make both work.
The first recommendation for at home fitness is to take advantage of the many different resources available online and through various apps. Youtube alone is chocked full of fitness routines from certified trainers and every day folks sharing what they love with the world.
Some other options are free trials and classes from Amazon Prime, Peloton, CorePower Yoga, Les Mills and more. Also if you have fitness gurus or healthy celebrities you follow check out their instagram and other social media because many people are posting their own workouts and exercise solutions. For example, Cameron Mathison over at Home and Family instagram had a great video with exercise solutions at home.
Another key to having an effective workout at home is creating a new routine. You may not be in an emotional state where you are ready for the intense workouts of the past. It may be better to focus on an ‘exercise snack’ approach where several times a day you do a 15 to 20 minute workout to help you feel better both physically and emotionally. There’s nothing wrong with that!
It’s also important to create a space for exercising if at all possible and set a schedule for workouts to try and give some kind of normalcy in your life.
Make sure as you exercise that you provide ample time to warm up and cool down. Products like Zim’s Max Freeze Cooling Liquid can help your muscles to calm down and relax after a hard exercise session. It provides deep penetrating relief to tired and sore muscles which is what we all need these days!
What strategies have you found to exercise during these challenging times? We would love to hear your suggestions in the comments section. And remember:
Stay safe and we’ll all get through this together!
