Here at Zim’s we proudly offer pain relief products with natural ingredients that can help make your life better. One of these ingredients in most of our products is aloe (Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract to be more exact) and as you can see on our product ingredient list our aloe is certified organic. But what does that really mean? Let’s talk about it!

Organic certification is a process set up by the USDA to “ensure all the ingredients in a product have been grown or raised free from prohibited pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers for 3 years before growth” In other words, if you are concerned about chemicals in the products you use on your body or ingest as food purchasing organic is a way the government helps you know what to buy.

Becoming certified is no easy task. It requires inspections and an entire accreditation and auditing process. For a riveting example of the experiences of starting an organic farm check out the documentary The Biggest Little Farm.

As far as aloe in our Zim’s line of pain relief products it is a key element in making the product work. Aloe vera has antioxidants that help inhibit the growth of bacteria that can cause infections. There have even been studies which have shown rinsing your mouth out with aloe vera juice helps eliminate dental plaque and bacteria like streptococcus in the mouth.

Some studies have also shown aloe vera gel to help tighten up aging skin. “In one study with 30 women over the age of 45, the gel was shown to increase collagen production and improve skin elasticity over a 90-day period”

Clearly aloe is an amazing natural ingredient that helps makes our product very effective. The fact it is a certified organic ingredient is even better!
