One of the best parts about celebrating Halloween is the creativity that can come from selecting and/or making our costumes. This can be a costume for a party or trick-or-treating event but it can also be a fun part of sportswear and particularly our running ensembles. We’ve talked about running costumes several times before on the blog but it’s always a delightful topic to dive into.

Whether you are doing a run at a theme park or just a community event coordinating outfits with friends can be a great way to make the event more entertaining. You want to make sure your costume is something you can still run in so avoid big hats or anything that will be too tight or restrictive as you move your body.

Graphic tees and skirts with leggings can be a simple way to create a character (or bound as Disney experts call it). Given a Halloween run is likely to be cooler (especially since these events usually occur in the early morning when it’s chillier) light but breathable layers are definitely recommended.

Running tutus can also be an easy way to dress up your running outfit. These can be found all over the internet and usually for under $20. Many etsy stores and other vendors can customize the tutu for you getting the right color and size for your costume.

Another easy way to create a costume you can run with is to find a character inspired apron. Again you can find these all over the internet in places like etsy and it’s a perfect solution because you are still wearing your normal running outfit but with an apron on top that you can remove easily if needed.
What are your favorite running costumes? We’d love to see what you’ve come up with. Have a safe and Happy Halloween!
